“Coloring the Animals of the World”: a 150-page Children’s Coloring Book

For this project, I was assigned as the sole illustrator for a 150-page coloring book for children, featuring various animals from around the world in different settings and moods.

The aim for each animal was to be cartoony, cute, expressive, funny and brimming with personality, while still maintaining uniqueness.

Given the book’s length and the number of animals depicted, there was ample opportunity to explore different styles, moods, poses, levels of anthropomorphism, and settings. The book encompasses everything from realistic-looking animals in serene settings to whimsical pages with animals portrayed in exaggerated proportions and fantastical environments.

The Coloring Book of the Animals and Nature in Greenland

This project originated from the previous coloring book. A publisher in Greenland noticed my work on the coloring book and commissioned a 25-page coloring book showcasing the wildlife of Greenland in authentic arctic settings.

Upcoming: Coloring Book of Landscapes from Around the World

As an extension of “Coloring the Animals of the World” I am currently working on a landscape coloring book of similar size and scope. In this project, I am depicting various unique landscapes and cityscapes from around the world, as well as a few fantasy scenes.

While my style remains consistent, the target audience for this book is much older, allowing for a significant increase in difficulty, complexity, and level of detail.

I thoroughly enjoy working on illustrations and line-drawings like these, varying in levels of complexity.

Due to the size and duration of these projects, I have developed a specializarion in animals and landscapes.
